Fluoride is added to most municipal drinking water systems in the United States to decrease the occurrence of dental cavities. Fluoride is also naturally occurring in some ground water sources. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends a level of 0.7 milligrams per Liter (mg/L) to promote good oral health. Some health concerns have been raised over the added fluoride, and many consumers are looking for products to remove this additive.
Graver Technologies’ MetSorb® MOX adsorbents have been developed to offer high capacity and fast kinetics for reduction of fluoride. MetSorb® MOX has demonstrated fluoride-reducing capacities in excess of 3-5 times that reduced, with traditional, activated alumina and bone char, water treatment methods.
